Under the documents Module, User would like to see a count of the files that are selected in a folder and a count of documents under that folder

Thank you for this idea. This feature already exists, although it may be a bit hard to find. It can be found by clicking the i icon on the far right of the screen. We will consider making the count more prominent in a future release.
