I sometimes use the iTwin Synchroniser from my desktop to directly synchronize models from a local source to the iModel. This means I don't have to first upload them, makes it also easier to deal with versioning.
Unfortunately outside of the local installation of the iTwin synchronizer I can't see these connections exist. It would be useful for the project admin to see these also appear in the "Connectors" list in Synchro Control / iModel manage. That way there is a single point where all connectors can be seen and eventually be removed. Now it's hybrid between local and online meaning I miss the overview.
